Claire Bassett is an undergraduate student (’27) at the University of Virginia, majoring in data science and economics. With a strong interest in data governance and privacy frameworks, Claire explores how these principles can be applied to emerging technologies in real-world contexts. As a research assistant in Sloane Lab, she investigates the ethical and legal dimensions of biometric and performance data collection in collegiate athletics, while also supporting the new Student Technology Council.
