Transportation enables citizens to participate in democratic processes by providing equal access to public spaces, resources, and civic engagement opportunities. Privatized mobility in the form of cars has long been in tension with the notion of public transport as infrastructure for democracy. The advent of autonomous driving has, once more, put car culture at the center of the mobility of the future.
